Apparently it's the only place they have a flat surface available, without performing major structural alterations or leaving it within reach of the common-or-garden Scottish Ned. I'm going to chase up prices for a couple of the lanterns mentioned above, but I'd also be interested to hear if anyone has any other suggestions, or has tried anything like this before.
