was just a side note, I dont mind, but I think coyurts would see it differently

The courts?! :) I think the only reason they'd see it differently is becuase of the tears in their eyes caused by laughing so much ...

As Tim and Peter have said, if you order a black Par56 and get a black Par56, you really shouldn't worry.

I think you're missing the point Ben.

If you agree to a hire from Stage Electrics of say, 10 Par 64 cans, thats what you'll get. If you approach them and say "I would like to hire 10 James Thomas Par Cans" and make it perfectly clear that you won't accept substitutes, then thats their choice whether or not to accept that contract.

I think its being rather petty to specify a James Thomas P64 over any other manufacturers one. A hire company stocks equipment which is useable and kept to a reasonable condition. They choose whether or not to stock JT pars - not you.

You'd be laughed out of court and spend enough to buy a whole Thomas meatrack of Thomas parcans, which you could count, polish and adore to you hearts content.

IT IS STILL A PARCAN !!!!

I'm sorry but I'm going to have to :) here

The Entertainment Biz is a specialist one, with the very large majority of people who hire equipment knowing exactly what it all does (Even the large amount of amateur groups). This means knowing that a Par 64 is the same as the next - the can makes doodly squat difference, it's the lamp that matters, so as long as they've sent you the right lamp, you don't really have grounds to moan on!

This isn't Tesco's, everyone knows a Par 64 is a Par 64 whoever makes the shell, and will do exactly the same job! I very much doubt there are many people in the Biz who care who's made their Par 64 - as long as it's come prepped correctly and according to your wishes :)

... and the tilt lock works, and the colour runners aren't bent to buggery, and the bubble spins properly, and you can get the back off for lamp-changing without the aid of a lump hammer, and ... :) Oh, sorry, was I sounding a touch bitter then? ;)

does is say in their catalouge

" here is a par64 black, you will get EXACTLY me when you phone us up and ask for a parcan? "

Im sure you would complain if they sent you a Par64 Black ( james thomas of course ) and it wasnt the same serial number as the one in the catalouge as well, cos that would be mis advertising wouldnt it?

The SLX catalouge has been out and unchanged pretty much for about 3yrs, and how many cases have you heard of people complaining there getting dts pars instead of jt?

LIVE WITH IT!!!!!! ACCEPT YOUR TALKING C**P!!!!!!
