Fairy dust

Hello.

I'm designing the lighting for an amateur production of Peter Pan and we have been having some difficulty in finding a good substance to use as fairy dust. Glitter makes a big mess and doesn't really catch the light well. Can anyone suggest an alternative and where I can purchase some?

We are based in Oxford, UK.

Glitter as found in newsagents is very small! Glitter as found in confetti canons is up to 1" squares! Most sizes are available if you look hard. As these products are often propelled by confetti canons look for the "spares" for confetti canons in places like LeMaitreLtd.com and other suppliers.

Are you using normal glitter, or proper stage glitter? Flints do a glitter that's 1/4 inch a side, not small stuff. We used it in last years christmas show for a similar effect and it catches light much better than normal glitter. It's also marginally easier to clean up.
