p.k.roberts
Apologies of this is going slightly off topic, but there seems to be an assumption by many that Duracell/Procell are the best of the bunch so I thought you might find this piece of research interesting. http://www.chriswoolf.co.uk/ibs/battery.htm As regards suppliers I heard very good reports about Bristol Batteries; no prices on line, but the website is here http://www.buybatteriesonline.co.uk/index.html Edit; Possibly slightly less scientifically rigorous, but this gave some interesting results too http://tinyurl.com/2qbond
Stutwo
Twice I bought Panasonic AA's in the last year in different parts of the country, twice they lasted about 30 seconds. I wouldn't buy Panasonics for anything important ever again.
Scouse Dave
When I used to buy procells, I found the best prices from the seller "battaaa" on ebay.co.uk. Currently listing 50 9V procells at £40 + 6.99 delivery. This brings the price incl delivery to #.094 per cell. (I made the jump to Fischer Amps rechargeables about two years ago and (apart from a few user induced problems) haven't looked back). I replace the cells once every 6-9 months or so - big savings! DavidLee
Edit; Possibly slightly less scientifically rigorous, but this gave some interesting results too http://tinyurl.com/2qbondVery interesting! Suggests that Morrisons' AAs are slightly better than Duracell at less than half the price! I was also surprised that Energiser Lithiums turned out to be cheaper per hour than standard Duracells. Well worth giving them a try in my headlamp. David
