Guest lightnix

I've just been having a trawl through some old pictures from my photo diary and thought I'd share a few...

The date: 16th-27th May 2002.

The place: Halle 9, Bavaria Studios, Munich (the studios where they made Das Boot).

The gig: Die SKL 5 Millionen Show (previously Die 10 Millionen Show, until the Euro came in ;) ).

The system: Several VL5s, VL5 Arcs, Mac 2000s, various conventional PARs, Source 4s and TV lights.

My job: VL technician.

The empty studio.

Laying out the truss.

Rig test.

Dimmer City.

Some lighting states...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v631/lightnix/MunichTVshow16.jpg

Green, facing east.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v631/lightnix/MunichTVshow15.jpg

White, facing west.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v631/lightnix/MunichTVshow13.jpg

Red, centre and west end.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v631/lightnix/MunichTVshow12.jpg

Gold, centre and west end.

But all good things must come to an end and so...

Down it comes...

...and there it was, gone (almost).

The End

Well, since we seem to be into the realms of TV and Film now, here's one of mine that's about as far from the previous mega studio and mega light rig as possible!

This is me, unusually behind the camera instead of doing sound, shooting a music video in an old school hall. In this case there are only two lights in use (a redhead and a small portable Sachtler) plus lots of daylight and diffussion on the lens. I spent most of the day on the homemade dolly, being pushed round and round the singer!

Results were surprisingly good!

Filming in an old school hall...no big studios here!

OK, This isn't half as impressive as some of the shows featured here on this list.

Just a couple of pictures from a new years event for a christian organisation.

Three projectors? More proof of "what goes round comes round"!

Anybody else here old enough to remember the old 3 strip Cinerama system. I first saw 2001: A Space Odyssey in a proper cinerama-equipped cinema......
