Light Console
Remember that thread I started ages ago about Lighting Design - Science or Art? You might recall that I was having problems with a general cover, well here is how it turned out... Overture to Fiddler on the Roof:http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/7910/Intro.th.jpg The Dream:http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/5794/Dream2.th.jpg Wedding:http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/6058/Sunriseset.th.jpg Time to leave Anatevka:http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/2297/Ending.th.jpg Cyc lighting via 6 LED Pars. Moderation: There is a 3 images per show maximum in this thread, but as your pics are so small I allowed you 4!
Jamtastic3
Light Console, you covered that whole cyc with only 6 LED pars!? Amaizing, even coverage. What quality/type were the pars?
Light Console
Ah...yes...well :D I am now a bit sheepish! They were only the Eurolite P56s from Thomann, about 2.4m away from the backcloth, but angled down if you catch my drift. The lower part was fine, and as most of the pictures were taken from the back of the room, the cloth that forms our pros arch hides the uneven bits at the top.No matter how we focused them, the top was never right. Sadly a boder for the back bar does not exist, but thankfully the venue is looking to get some more of the same parcans to add to mine. Here is a photo taken from the stage, during the photocall, the uneven top can sadly be clearly seen.http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/4805/imgp0357gv1.th.jpg PS all of these pictures were taken with my K100D, no tripod required, even from the back of the room. AndrewR
I've just finished a tour of Ireland (both of them) with a final week in Washington DC, (at a very nice place in Bethesda called the imagination stage) The play was 'Cuchulainn, The Hound Of Ulster' http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h134/TheRuttmeister/Jamie_Hurley.jpg King Connor, http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h134/TheRuttmeister/Sword_Picture.jpg Cuchulainn defeating the army of Meave, (thats them in the background, en-mass covering the projection screen.) http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h134/TheRuttmeister/DSC00085.jpg Finally Ferdia (Cuchulainns best friend) being persuaded by Meave to fight Cuchlainn. A very strange play lighting wise, almost entirely side lit. (but only the one photo of that!) The first 2 photos taken in the first venue, the 3rd in the final venue (Imagination stage)
David Buffham
Here are some set photos from a recent production of High School Musical that we lit at Epsom Playhouse last month. We attached approx 5,000 LEDs in the form of X-LED modules to various edges of the set to create a 'high-tech' look, help with the delimitation of stage areas in various split-scenes in the show, and for general dynamic effects. The concept worked really well. For future versions of this show we're adding Pixel Par 90s, and eventually Martin Stage Bars, to add more saturated colour washing on the set walls. Bryson
I'm generally a bit busy during the show for taking photos, but: Here's one that Andy took of a fun focus session:http://bryson.albassamtheatre.com/figure%208.jpg Lighting design by me, to a concept by the choreographer. peternewman
The 'rules' for posting photos to this topic have become a bit 'buried' way back on page one, so here's a reminder :All photos must be hosted on an external server. If you don't have your own webspace, photobucket.com provide free space. We impose this rule as it reduces our server load. No photo should be more than 30kb to download. Not everyone is on broadband. Photos should be sized at or around 640x480 resolution. Again, some users are still browsing at 640x480 and that'll break their frames, so that's a maximum. Photobucket allow you to resize your image on their servers - once you've uploaded it, select "edit" and then choose a size to resize to. Hopefully if everyone abides by these rules then we won't be causing too much of a 'lag'. Maximum of 3 photos per person at a time. This makes it interesting - choose your favorite three, or most interesting/bizarre three. We'd just like to remind contributors to make sure that the number (maximum of three) and size (no more than 640x480 and 30kB) of the images they post comply with the above. This is an example of the best way to post to this topic - a small thumbnail image and a link to more photos on an external site. Thanks.
