I don't have any photos myself, but I did the sound for a gig called "Vertical Buzz" on Sat night and there is a website where some photos are placed.

Click on the link below

Hope you like.

A friend called Matt did a very good job (I think, anyway) with what was available for lighting.

Cheers,

Simon

Bit confused - the photos looklike they used working light - what lighting?

What do you mean by Working Light?

There were some short nose Par 56's on the stage floor, pointing up.

The rest were the installed rig, some Fresnels, some profile spots possibly? (all hung from the ceiling rig type thing)

Working Lights - The lights used for non-performance use of the venue (Like rigging sound kit) They're normally bog standard flourescents (SP?). Not NORMALLY on rig or going through dimmers..

All right I should first qualify this with lots of execuses: 1. I've not Designed much before 2. I've Only read a few books on the subject and all of them where for places who c) had a lantern stock that wasn't as very band \ disco \ other profitable stuff orentated i.e. our profiles were, until we recently got some Sil's, all T-spots which in almost every case where missing a lens or reflector or other critical part and no two of which were the same brightness. And two harmonies of which one has lost it's profile bits. All par cans and some movers aside from that. Any way enougn explaining

http://www.noiseboy.net/gallery.asp?subdir=eclipse

to explain the URL the bloke is a mate of mine (who despite all protestations of being a soundie op'ed a couple of nights of the show)

EDIT: saying that I haven't done much I notice photo's on his site from footaid (lots of bands and ppl playing fopotball in aid charity) and My first ever decent size rig namely on the town.

Vince,

We have a problem too with LCD projectors getting in the way. Too high or too low, and one can't keystone it enough. Rear projection isn't an option...so we just have to live with it. I wish there was a way of losing the pole, but it seems like it will just have to stay for those shows that request it.

Anyone got any suggestions?

David

The pictures are from a balcony which we op from (it got closed for helth and safety reasons ages ago offers a better view of the stage than any were else) so the project didn't stick out quite as much to the audience. The object the kid is interested in is (if I worked it out right) a hudge install projector which works very well on the screen that can be dropped the entire width of the stage but which wouldn't have focused down to my small screen.

Oh and another thought of note the pic's are on the dress rehersal night - the "sea" along the front of the beach scenes was refocused before the audence were alloud to see it.

In the early 80's the Sheffield Youth Theatre, with which I was involved, did The Tempest on a couple of tons of sand. Unfortunately the rehearsal room had a resident cat who thought that this was the biggest litter tray in the world! The same sand was then used for the show.
