Lighting an 'arena' on a budget

If you can go for Source 4 Pars. You will get the same O/P as a CP62 from one of those at nearly half the power

The only drawback in hanging from the roof, is that you need to have someone there whos knows what ther're doing - and things start to get a bit "meatyer" when dealing with runs of socca or a load of TRS triped togther. Etc - and then thats not including the plethora of slings , steels , IWB's / truss, shackles ... and so on . .

When and where is it excatly ?

I'm starting to regret this! Mountbatten Centre, Portsmouth on 17th. I'm going back to the venue over the weekend and have a damn good natter with the technician and with any luck can get a clearer picture of where I can place/hang things. There is also 3 phase power but from where, I wont know until the weekend. I'll post the exact location and loads of power sockets once Ive met with the techs.

Really appreciate your assistance here guys, thankyou.

That's one of the problems with many gigs in sports hall type places. For our 'regular' sports hall job that I mentioned a few posts ago, we have to do the 3-phase feed from hell - tail into a switch fuse in a boiler room, then up the stairs, out of the door onto the carpark, up onto the adjacent roof, across that one and up onto the roof of the next building, in through a window, through a classroom, into a stairwell and down into the sports hall. :)

Bloody hell Gareth!! Thats a bit round the houses!! ** laughs out loud **

Well, having grew up in Portsmouth, I know the M.C very well, and my advice is-if you can , try and hang. Trying to light something in there off stands, you may as well use maglights for all the good it will do. Ask the tech there if they use a regular suppleir for bringing kit in - or try calling the tech at Portsmouth Guildhall.

I used to have a good contact over in Segensworth, but he's retired now and moved to Cornwall Doh.
