The Ethernet protocol contains no such distance limits.[/pedant] There is a limit of 100m on a single ethernet-over-CAT5 link, but nowhere has that been suggested. It'd be a right pain getting cross-continent connections plumbed in if that were true! Imagine a connection over to America with 100m hops!
