karl
and how do you rotate the barn door to get funky diagonal cuts, and er wont they get in the way if you want to use a scroller?Erm, yes I hadn't thought of that. Unless the whole lantern rotated like some profiles can (SLs) - although then the lantern would have to be round and wouldn't have corners - bother! Scrollers wouldn't be a problem just fold the barndoors back against the side. Runners could still be fitted as well as the gel flap. Although the front is going to be getting a bit cluttered and the price is going up. Damn and blast. Just as well I didn't bother patenting it! Stutwo
Now floppy Cantata barn doors, theres a different matter. Took mine off to see if I can tighten the hinge, ended up re-riveting the things to "nip" tighter, it only being a friction fit. Not looking forward to doing the rest, unless someone can invent some Cantata viagra.

Stutwo
You're thinking of The Loin King, which was a different film altogether.
Kevin Ross
Peavey pro powered rig……… Why ohhh who don’t you have IEC power outputs on the subs!?!??!?!?! If you are using the subs then chances are you are using the tops right above it so why not have an IEC outlet so I can just use an IEC link cable the connect the two? Nooooooo you make me use another plug up, I mean its not like you are drawing much power are you? ARE YOU! Ok back to normal now

Mackie & JBL do (or don't do) the same & I'm sure there are many others I can't remember at the moment. It's not just subs where this would be a useful feature either. Half a dozen powered wedges on stage cam make for a lot of cables sitting on the floor. That said, IECs do come unplugged rather easily so Powercons would be better. Jez_the_cheetah
Zero 88 Frog range (and yes, I understand that this may have been fixed in future software releases)- the fact that the wheels can just take off if you give them too fast a spin, sending your intelligent light swinging wildly round the room...Thankfully, I don't normally have to use the Frog range much more than twice a year- so there's only a couple of opportunities for it to wind me up. :) Ill second that. :P Unfortunately I have to put up with a Fat Frog all the time. However, moving lights are a bit of a rarity.
Cupboard
The Abstract CE compact DMX controller - its made for their scanners (VR8s) and is incredibly difficult to use! The joystick sticks out annoyingly and has been broken off a few times as a result and our's has developed an interesting fault where the black out no longer blacks out and instead projects a pink flowery gobo. But only about half the time :) Oh, and did I mention that their DMX output is backwards? The hot and cold pins are the wrong way round!! http://www.soundmastersdirect.co.uk/images/uploads/lighting/absclub32.jpg
