I spent quite a while working for a company as a freelancer, fitting theatres and TV studios,

 

Yes it is a bit tedious making loads of cables that disappear out the door, and that are never going to be of use to you!

 

But it is really satisfying to sit back after finishing a 42u rack of kit which is all beautifully loomed in and you can follow any cable any where.

 

Personal favorite has to be making audio multis, 10:47's great connectors, the more cores the better and doing everything properly, sleeving, Hellerman’s, cable sock on the spiders,

 

The old thing, do it right first time, don’t have to do it again, :stagecrew:

 

as for tools, knipex cutters, and a scalpel, practice, good quality solder, proper connectors, proper Weller soldering iron, decent screwdrivers that fit the screw, it sounds silly to state the obvious, but it really does help, saves holes in hands and fingers.
