Radio Mics for schools

Buying radio mics can suit a school very well, as long as the circumstances are right. We ended up going for the racked and ready system from Trantec and it's been excellent. Very good value for money and the mics themselves have nice features like remote locking of the power switches, USB monitoring and Infra red channel setting. Well worth a look.

Consider owning some and hiring more. We're looking to drop to two handhelds and two pack transmitters (plus 2 venerable but reliable trantec vhf packs) and hire anything extra in as it is needed.

This leaves enough for the odd vocal solo and music concerts and head's speeches, and then once a year we'll hire in a rack of 8-16 depending on the show.

They work on a digital frequency simular to that used by Wi-Fi really reliable mics!!

Therein lies the potential for interference problems - especially in a school environment...

You Could give THESE a try

As Ynot has said, we rely on multiple school wide networks therefore I dont want to risk wiping out the wifi in an area of the school when the mics are in use or have issues with drop out and interference across the mics from the current networks...
