gareth
For the cost of 15 weeks' hire, it might be possible to build one - the design wouldn't be too hard to come up with, and all you'd need is some steel box section, some wheels and a friendly welder (if you can't weld yourself, that is). I don't know what the material/labour costs would be, but considering the price of a longish hire it might turn out to be a viable solution. Doug kelly
New meat racks from Thomas are around £700 List from AC's web site. That gives you 23 weeks @£30 to get your money back even if you did the job and sold it again. You may even get some discount from AC. Doug
mike
For the cost of 15 weeks' hire, it might be possible to build one - <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd get it made. A local friendly welder (from yellow pages) built 3 for me recently - we gave him a quick sketch and dimensions. £420 for all 3 - bargain.Sadly though, he's north of the border.... carriage could be a little heavy going!mike. gil-galad
I have designed a meat rack wich holds 6 bars 6, 2wide three high which will fit through the doors of a 7.5T truck. The most expensive bits were the half couplers we used to hold the bars so you could put bars of acls in if required. Get one built from box steel it will be much cheaper.
