addoaddo Posted February 23, 2012 Share Posted February 23, 2012 As the PAT test has no legal back up or requirement you can make the test as wide ranging or narrow as you like. The regulation that are more important are Electricity at Work Regulations which only cover the electrical safety of a device plus the general health and safety equipment that the work place is self. If you hired a monkey from a basic company they are likely to only look at the electrical safety of a part as they are concerned about the number of test per hour. Most company should see the PAT test as a chance to do an annual (normally) check on their equipment and make sure everything is working not just the electrical safety.
