The TX
Hi all, anyone know about updating the firmware of Sony EX3 camcorders? I've heard some terrible horror stories about getting one teeny tiny thing wrong and ending up with a dead camera that cannot be revived.I've asked CVP/Mitcorp and they've replied saying they'll do it for 2hrs labour charged at £75 an hour (and probably VAT on top, plus carraige both ways... sigh.). Any other ideas?
Pete McCrea
Did ours on the bench following the instructions and had no issues. It's like most firm ware updates - if you don't follow the instructions then there is always the risk of damaging the core software. So read the instructions, read them again, then do the update. That said if your not confident, maybe making it someone else's problem for £150 is worth it....
BenMarkley
Same here, I updated both of ours after a quick read of the instructions with no problems. Just make sure you read them a couple of times and are comfortable with the steps.
