Odd hum problem on install

The only I can find nowadays only seems to be in the states link but I have seen one over here somewhere in my past.

Fortunately the linked item states both that it isn't a ground lift and that it maintains a safe ground. To be honest, I'd be surprised to see anyone selling an item as patently dangerous as you describe. To reinforce a previous poster, lifting the mains protective earth is NEVER an acceptable practice. EVER. If doing so ever resulted in death or injury, a judge would take no time at all to place the blame firmly on the shoulders of the person who did it.

 

By all means break the audio signal ground as that will also break the earth loop. The mains earth is there for a good reason and shouldn't be interfered with.
