Ebay delights.

Ah, no Clive...it's seems to be a possible 35% savings. And you need only use them for each and every 18kW...so the 35% is easily saved because 35% of your house will burn down, before the F&R get around to estinguishing the fire...after rescuing some hapless tech from a tallescope...no doubt...probably...I expect.

Either that of course or that's how Mr C intends for us to save electricity by compelling the lecky companies to dish them out for free a la the energy saver lamps (bulbs).

Glad to see they're still selling power saver plugs on ebay too. Instantly reduce your electricity bill by up to 25% or more. Apparently.

Another example of the good old "Up to" advert much used by practically every high street shop at some time or other

"Up to 50% off ALL stock" when of course there is 0% off most of it. That's because zero being less than 50 falls within that set of numbers described as "up to 50"

So a statement that a device will reduce your bill by "up to 25%" (Ad says up to 35%) is still perfectly correct and legal when the reduction is measured as zero. The statement would only be false if the device reduced your bill by more than the given percentage.

My survey of Blue Room members shows that less than half of them are unable to read or write. Up to 75% cannot even change a light bulb.
