Another solution to throw in to the mix (pun intentional) is the new system for Pivitec which allows individuals to control their mix from an iPad / iPhone / iPod Touch.

Pivitec was founded by Dan Garrett who was also one of the founders of Aviom.

According to a google search, the personal module is $795, the input module $999 and the POE switch $500

Don't know what your budget is going to be like, but an example setup that could work for you...

We've actually bought the P16 system from Behringer now with a few ancillary bits and pieces to connect it up the way we want to.

 

I'll report on how it all worked once we've done a few performances with it.
