dbuckley
I wrote one for our Society; web based (PHP/MySQL), does just what we need. Credit cards through PayPal. One day it'll be available as a service, he says optimistically...

cedd
A good few local societies around here use Amateur Box Office. Sadly I'm currently at work and the web filter here has taken a disliking to their site, so I can't tell you too much more about it, but it's a name I've not heard mentioned in the thread so thought I'd throw it in to the pot. OllieDuff
We use Spektrix (www.spektrix.com). Main advantages are simple charging (it's a percentage of your usage each month, no overhead fees), scalability (you can have as many operators/box office staff logged in as you like, via any web browser) and a dead easy interface which makes training new staff a doddle. Tech support is also excellent. Highly recommended.
