Lighting an Art installation

Hi,

 

I have done something "similar" to this many years ago, & the effect looked great

 

EDIT:

(Only suitable if you don't mind having the map printed on the clear sheet itself that is)

 

A few pics below... basically we had a fine dot matrix of the required image's printed on the sheets, with a higher density of dots for the image itself & then a lower count over the whole sheet so the light had something to refract with... (The panels were also curved & not particularity small either) & we lit these from just the sides with LED's mounted on small narrow PCB's concealed in an aluminium channel.

 

Bear in mind too the LED technology in those days (2004) was nothing like it is now, with much brighter LED's available today so in theory could be made to look far better than my effort ;o)
