LS9 Stagebox dropping out

The venue is relatively small and cable works aren't don't very often at all.

The cable had no breaks and was straight from one end of the desk to the stage box.

It was sometimes working, it would work for 5 minutes then just dropped out for no obvious reason.

As for the connectors they were some kind of fancy thing where the knockoff Neutrik shell untwists to come off leaving a normal RJ45 plug. As for shielding I cant remember but I think its as its not mentioned at all on the product page. https://www.thomann.de/gb/pro_snake_cat5e_cable_75m.htm where as it is mentioned on this one https://www.thomann.de/gb/pro_snake_8838550.htm?sid=8573e87b74d9b26d76d5a640265466fb

if you follow the first link (the cable installed here) and scroll to the foot of the page, then you will see the spec sheet and it's described there as being foil shielded. the cable you have WILL give issues with x32 boxes where the shield IS used as a ground and you need continuity from shell to shield. Unless someone corrects me though, I think it's probably not relevant for LS9 networks. maybe someone with more knowledge can confirm?

The cable had no breaks and was straight from one end of the desk to the stage box.

The simple fact is that it worked with the second cable and didn't work with the 75m one. Therefore there has to be an issue with the 75m cable. Just because there is no observable physical damage to the cable, does not mean that it hasn't been compromised. It might have been stretched somewhere which has damaged a core. Even someone running a flight case over it could have damaged a core. I would suggest re terminating the Rj45 plugs before junking it.
