JOB ROLE – Warehouse Technician

 

LOCATED AT – Park Royal, NW10

 

SALARY - £21,000 - £23,500 dependent on experience

 

Description

Lightning is a young and rapidly expanding event production company specialising in providing bespoke design & production to a mixture of private and corporate clients in London, around the UK and abroad.

 

Lightning is seeking a warehouse technician to join our talented team to ensure all equipment is prepared, returned & maintained to the high standards required for our events. Lightning offers a complete production service to its clients and so requires its warehouse technicians to be"all-rounders" with technical knowledge of professional lighting, audio and power distribution systems, some basic carpentry and set preparation skills and a willingness to perform a variety of duties as circumstances require.

 

This is a unique opportunity to become a key member of a small, successful and rapidly growing team.

 

The position is full time Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm at our Park Royal warehouse. The show must go on and so the ability to be available for paid overtime including evening and weekend work is essential. There will also be occasional site work as well as van driving. A full UK driving license is also essential.

 

 

Responsibilities:

Day to day warehouse tasks:

· Loading/unloading of vans and trucks

· Prepping/de-prepping lighting, sound, rigging, staging, power equipment for events

· Prepping/de-prepping of stock set items and furniture

· Preparation of equipment for productions and dry hires to the highest standard

· Checking in equipment returned from hire

· Equipment testing and maintenance to as high a standard as practically possible

· Check incoming deliveries against delivery notes and transfer to storage as required.

· Assist with stock control and asset tracking

· Cleaning and tidying of the warehouse and company vehicles

· Ensure the workplace is a safe environment to work in and address health and safety issues where possible

· Making deliveries and collections in company van to suppliers and event sites

· Prioritise kit leaving and entering the warehouse.

· Occasional work onsite assisting venues and productions, setting up and operating equipment as required.

 

Occasional tasks:

 

· Be prepared to undertake onsite production work as a technician setting up and operating equipment as required

· Create and Improve workflows and systems/procedures

 

Essential Skills& Experience:

- Demonstrated experience in a similar role

- High level of attention to detail

- Good level of physical fitness

- Ability to work as part of a team or alone with little guidance

- Autonomy and a proactive work ethic.

- Ability to take ownership and accountability.

- Approachable, flexible and calm and decisive under pressure

- Good timekeeping

- Full UK driving license

- Availability to work late nights and weekends sometimes at short notice

 

Knowledge, Skills &Experience (Desirable):

- Detailed knowledge in a particular field (ie lighting, sound, setbuilding)
