On-Site AV/ICT Technician

Press Red Rentals are a fast-growing company providing customers with rental services for exhibitions and events. From our facilities in Telford, Shropshire and Roermond in the Netherlands we provide our clients with audio-visual, sound, lighting and video equipment at venues across the UK and mainland Europe.

 

As a result of continued growth in 2018 and a strong order book for 2019 we are now in a position to appoint additional members to our team.

 

Due to the convergence between audio-visual and computing technologies, we are looking to recruit experienced AV/ICT Technicians to join us to work both onsite and in our facilities in Telford and Roermond.

 

Applicants with experience of, and confidence in the following would be preferred:

 

• Working on site at exhibition, event and corporate venues either as part of a team or sometimes as a solo worker.

 

• The ability to wall mount equipment as required.

 

• Basic networking skills, setting of IP address, connecting printers and configuring routers to access the internet etc.

 

• The ability to configure IT equipment to a level above that of a standard user, i.e. installation of operating systems, configuring graphics cards with multiple

outputs, swapping out hard drives and graphics cards etc.

 

• The ability to set up PA Systems with loudspeakers and radio microphones

 

• Some basic knowledge of LED lighting, moving heads etc

 

• The ability to install and configure video / LED walls, the use of LG screens, Absen LED panels and Novastar controllers.

 

• Taking ownership of your own on site health and safety, keeping yourself and those around you safe, identifying risks

 

• The confidence to drive long journeys in both the UK and mainland Europe.

 

• The ability to plan projects in advance.

 

Because of the nature of our work, overseas travel and overnight stops are a common part of the job. Therefore, a current driving licence (the ability to be able to drive vehicles larger than 3.5t would be considered an advantage) and a passport is an essential requirement for applicants.

 

This is a permanent position, with a competitive salary, (between £21,000 - £25,000 pa) dependent upon experience. We offer 28 days holiday (including bank holidays) with the opportunity to earn up to a total of 50 days holiday per year. All staff are part of a company pension scheme with NEST. Flexible working and weekend working are also a requirement of the position. Bonuses and other incentives are also available on a performance-related basis.
