Can't see any Patt 263s in the picture!

 

I believe Chichester had an early batch where the bodies were folded steel rather than the later pressed ones.

 

Looks like Source 4s at the back which put out about 8 times the usable light of a 263, for only just over half the power.

There's plenty of modern 2k and even 5k lamps; the power consumption isn't necessarily linked to age.

 

While LED might be supplanting general colour washing there's not a lot that can still offer the same flexibility of beam control whilst retaining the punch of a 2k or 5k fresnel; and what can is often out of the reach of producing and community venues.

That's a lot of tungsten.

 

Anyone care to calculate how much that costs them to run?

 

'A lot' immediately springs to mind.

 

 

Depends if they're all on at once - varying between "quite a lot" and "How much!!!"

 

 

Indeed. I bet those leccy meter dials spin like crazy.

 

Funny. It's not that long ago we wouldn't be worrying about it :blink:

 

Of course the benefits of LED are more than just the cost of the electrickery. :)
