Enlightened is one of the largest event suppliers in the South West, offering full production services, supported dry hire, design, and delivery of permanent installations, competitive and intelligent sales, skilled repairs, and maintenance to a diverse range of clients and venues. Our full-time staff has extensive expertise in Lighting, Audio, Trussing, Staging, and AV Equipment.

 

Position Summary

Our busy installation department is expanding and we are looking for another experienced engineer to join our dedicated and skilled installation team.

 

This is a key role at the heart of the busy installation department of Enlightened, working closely with other members of the Enlightened team to provide the backbone support for the installation of the project. Delivering installations to exceed the customer's expectations.

 

You will be installing and maintaining a wide variety of equipment from Sound, Lighting, Video, Drapes, and rigging in venues ranging from theatres, studios, schools, museums and entertainment venues.

 

 

Salary

£24k to £30k. Negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.

 

Tasks & Responsibilities


  •  
  • Manage a project from point of order through to completion
  • Lead and manage onsite teams of engineers
  • Work from drawings, schematics, and cable layout
  • Problem solve and devise installation solutions
  • Installation of AV equipment to a high standard
  • Coordinate variations to a contract / agreement
  • Ensure all company health and safety procedures are adhered to
  • Ensure all details are accurately documented on HireTrack.
  • Aim to exceed expectations
  • Deliver excellent customer service & perform all duties in a positive and constructive way.

 

As a member of the Enlightened team, you must be prepared to undertake all reasonable extra duties as circumstances dictate.

 

About the candidate

Essential:


  •  
  • to have excellent knowledge of AV, Sound & Lighting installations, and control equipment
  • to be enthusiastic, self-motivated to be able to work under pressure
  • to have impeccable attention to detail and high standards of work
  • to be organized, methodical, and to have good interpersonal skills
  • to display excellent customer service skills at all times
  • to have great problem-solving skills and be able to adapt.
  • to be able to create effective working relationships, to work individually and well as part of a team.

 

Desirable:


  •  
  • Experience in programming control systems - eg, Yamaha MTX, Pharos, etc.
  • Electrical installation and testing qualifications
  • PASMA & IPAF certification
  • Experience of In-Service Electrical Inspection (Formerly PAT)
  • Forklift license

 

Employment will be conditional upon a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check along with satisfactory references.

Enlightened Aims and opportunity

 

Over three years we would offer you training in some of the following disciplines depending on aptitude;

Audio, electrical installations, temporary power, CAD design, AV consoles equipment and programming, IPAF/PASMA, soldering, motors, rigging and suspension systems.

 

Hours & Location Of Work

Your time will be mostly spent at customer locations. You may also be required to stay away when installation venues are not within commuting distance of Bristol.

Core hours are Monday to Friday 08.00 to 16.30.

 

You may be asked to work overtime, which may include weekends at busy times of the year as required.

You will be required to join the out of hours support rota.
